Business systems: which one your company needs, and in what order

73 types of system in 8 families, each with its own page and a free assessment. If you do not know where to start, the guide works it out from the symptoms in your operations.

Systems bought before the process is sorted out

Each vendor arrives with its own system: an ERP for accounting, a CRM for sales, payroll software, an online store. Each one solves its own area and none of them settles who approves, which data is authoritative and how information moves from one area to the next.

The result shows at month-end: files cross-checked by hand, the same customer under three codes and reports that arrive after the decision has been made.

  • Process and authoritative data first; the tool comes after.
  • Every system in the catalogue is assessed on the same seven dimensions of the DMG-RT method.

The cost of choosing from a vendor brochure

  1. Licences for modules nobody uses

The full suite is bought and the team stays on Excel because the process was not redesigned before configuration.

  2. Double keying between systems

Orders, invoices and stock moves are typed again into another system, with errors that surface at reconciliation.

  3. A second migration

When the chosen system does not cover the real process, the vendor is replaced and master data and balances are migrated again.

Diego's assessment method

Systems assessment is the first layer of the DMG-RT method: it starts from the indicator you want to move and reaches the tool at the end. Each step leaves a result you keep, whether or not you hire the next one.

    Symptoms

The guide finds the areas with the most symptoms and the system to review.

  2. 2

    System assessment

Around 22 to 26 questions: level on seven dimensions (process, data, coverage, integration, measurement, people and compliance).

    30-minute review

Diego reads your answers beforehand and agrees the first step with you. It is the pre-qualification phase of the DMG-RT method.

    On-site assessment

Three weeks with your team: processes, data and the baseline of the indicator to improve.

Implement (with Odoo when the assessment points to it), integrate what you already have, or choose a market platform with you.

Symptom-based guide

Eighteen concrete symptoms, such as "month-end waits for each department's Excel file" or "payroll is calculated in Excel". You mark how often each happened this year.

The result ranks twelve areas by symptoms and, for the three most affected, proposes the system to assess and its page. Diego receives the lead with your answers; no automatic emails are sent.

  • Administration and accounting
  • SUNAT invoices and ledgers
  • Planning and production
  • Quality and maintenance
  • Warehouse and dispatch
  • Purchasing and suppliers
  • Sales and customers
  • Store, till and online sales
  • Customer service and support
  • Payroll and attendance
  • Projects and construction
  • Data, reporting and integration

Map of connections between families

Each line adds up the integrations the catalogue records between systems in two families; thickness shows how many. Dotted lines go to the ERP, which almost every family feeds. Hover over or tap a family to highlight its connections.

Diego's scope by type of system

The catalogue separates what Diego implements from what he assesses and helps you choose. The figure is the number of system types in the catalogue for each case.

Implementation29Diego configures the system, migrates the data, trains the team and takes it live. With Odoo when the assessment points to it.
Integration9Diego connects the platform to your ERP or other tools and defines which side owns each piece of data. You or your vendor runs the platform.
Assessment and selection35Diego analyses the process, writes the requirements, compares market options with you and coordinates integration. The chosen vendor carries out the implementation.

Every assessment gives the same output at the end: overall level, level by dimension, the three main gaps with a recommendation and the option to review it with Diego.
